jean and ikat

So I've been in search of the perfect jean jacket. I have yet to find it but I do have my eye on a few.

I honestly just didnt' want to spend over $50 on one, but we will see.

I got this one off of ebay a few weeks back, I like it, but still wasn't what I was looking for.

What I Wore

To Chicago!

Last weekend I made my way up to Chicago. Man oh man, I do love that city. I have wanted to live there for many years and every time I'm there I remember why. But of course I would only live there if I could live in the center of the city. I remember thinking when I was a tad bit younger how I could sell my car so I could last 3-4 months in rent living right off State St.(where Anthropologie is of course).

Oh to live that dream!
But I'm perfectly content where I am in life right now. Plus now I would have to sell my house and my car to live there :)

DIY Headboard

So for awhile now I've wanted to show how I made my headboard.

I made it about two years ago and absolutely love it! And the total cost was around $100. I know right?

We have a platform bed with storage

I also redid my dresser. It was so ugly before

You will need:
A good piece of wood
Batting
Foam
Spray cloth adhesive
Staple gun with staples
Whatever fabric you would want
Any decorative-pins/bolts/ec
Wire(any kind will do)
Four screws (anchoring)

1) First You will Need a good piece of wood, I picked out cedar which yes is alittle bit more pricey but you do not want a cheap piece of wood. I believe I paid around $45 which is the bulk of the money

2) We will take the spray adhesive and spray it on the foam or piece of wood and lay the foam onto the wood. Just make sure it sticks.

3) Take the batting and wrap the foam & wood and wrap it around both of them

4) Now take your fabric that you want as your headboard and cut it just about 6 inches over the size of the wood all around. So if you would is 10' x 10', you'd want to cut your fabric 10'6" all around.

Now it kind of gets tricky especially if you are working alone. Also you might want to iron your fabric before stapling it to you board.

5) You wrap your fabric TIGHLY around the wood. Using your staple gun, staple around the backside of the board still making sure your fabric is tight around. You will need to keep checking the front side to make sure you have no wrinkles.

6) Add your details!

I bought decorative nail heads to line the top of my headboard. There is so many options to this. If you have a handyman or yourself you might want to cut the board to get a cool shape. That was my original plan, but was doing this alone and wanted to get done with it.

Later my husband took 2 screws and drilled it in the back side of the headboard and took a wire to anchor it to the wall.

Ask if you have any questions!

April Necklaces on Ebay

I've decided to make my necklace finds on ebay a monthly thing!

I will post necklace that I have bought or are wanting on here!
Like I said before, I love jewelry, I love the excitement of getting new jewelry but do not want to be spending $50-$150 on "costume" jewelry.
So like most times, when I see something I like, I go to ebay in search of it at a better price!

Purchased! Anywhere from {$1.25-$9}

Spring Sunday

Just when I thought spring wasn't coming... it's here :)

Hopefully to stay.

I'm finally excited for all that spring/summer entails and I'm pretty sure this is going to be one of the best summers yet!

I love waking up and throwing on some clothes and coffee and then heading out for the day which is what we did today. We stocked up on the yard essentials and spend the afternoon setting up our backyard for a summer of enjoyment!

I'm in the middle of a spring clean - which I should be doing homework- but I feel like there is nothing better than a clean house! Anyone agree? Or is that my OCD kicking in?

I hope everyone is having a splendid Sunday!

Beautiful Easter

I hope everyone had a blessed Easter. We enjoyed ours greatly. Living two hours away from home makes holidays super busy but it is always well worth it.

I am lucky enough to have all of my grandparents alive and not much holiday tradition has changed since I was a baby and considering I am 27, I feel pretty privileged. So each holiday I will enjoy that much more because I realize things will be changing soon enough!

My dad lives in the middle of nowhere, I got some good shots in his backyard!
